The cold has finally arrived and with it the holiday lights, Christmas music on the radio and incessant advertising about all the gifts we should be buying!  For those that are not in happy or healthy relationships, this is a very difficult time of year.  The images of smiling families around the dinner table or the Christmas tree only serve to make them feel even more alone and outcast.  It would appear that everyone else is enjoying the season and filled with happiness and good cheer.  This does not mean that you should not enjoy this special time with your family and friends to the utmost – in fact, I hope that it makes you realize and be even more grateful than ever for the healthy and supportive relationships you have in your life.  Cherish them and let them know how much they mean to you, because if there is anything my work here has taught me over the past 8 years is that they are not to be taken for granted.   Wishing you a wonderful, joyous and blessed holiday season with those you love!
