How long have you practiced law?
I began practicing law in May of 2015.
What drove you to pursue law?
I wanted to help my community and I saw a law degree and the practice of law as a way to do that more effectively. As an undergraduate college student I saw a movie about abuse and decided that I wanted to specifically try to help those in crisis situations.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself, or something you enjoy!
I have three young daughters! (Ages 2, 5 and 7.) They are wonderfully busy and help me see more joy in the world around me.
How long have you been involved with the Women’s and Children’s Alliance and how did you first get involved?
My husband, who is also an attorney, sent me an email about a training the WCA was offering (this was while I was still a law student). I attended the training and knew I wanted to be involved with volunteering at the WCA. As soon as I passed the Bar and finished my first clerkship, I began volunteering. I have been volunteering at the WCA for just over a year now.
What drives your passion for continuing the great work that you do with the Women’s and Children’s Alliance?
When a client leaves with a plan and a positive resolve to see it through, I feel proud to have been involved in helping them. There are so many legal needs that are not being met due to financial or other reasons. I love volunteering with the WCA.
