What do you do in your volunteer role at the WCA?

I am a court advocate as well as in the past being a speaker and my story is shared in the fundraising DVD that have been shown to companies.

How long have you been a volunteer?

I have been a volunteer for several years.

What do you find most rewarding about your work at the WCA?

My work is rewarding because it is my way to pay it forward. The WCA has been such a blessing to my children and myself. There is no way I could ever pay them back so in a small way I am hoping to pay it forward.

How have you changed or grown as a person through your work here?

I have grown volunteering for the WCA. Every time I share my story for the WCA or sit with a petitioner in court, it is a reminder that I have grown past who I once was into someone new.

I have grown from a frightened little caterpillar into a butterfly that forever will fly free because someone, the WCA, cared enough to help me emerge from my cocoon strong with a heart to pay it forward.
