Pam Johnson, WCA Volunteer
What do you find most rewarding about your work at the WCA?
I’ve found that the most rewarding aspect of my work at the WCA is seeing the smiles and appreciation from people receiving the Christmas and Back to School items. I have been being involved with the Christmas Sponsorship as both a sponsor and a volunteer– helping to retag, organize and hand out the gift to families.
How long have you been a volunteer?
I can’t remember how long. It seems like 15 years but I am not sure.
What do you do in your volunteer role at the WCA?
Throughout my many years at the WCA I have done a range of jobs. I’ve focused mainly on the Christmas Sponsorship but I have recently started working with the Back to School sponsorship as well. I have also done some calling for Tami, WCA’s Volunteer Coordinator, and more recently participated in some outreach activity.
How have you changed or grown as a person through your work here?
I feel like I am less judgmental of people than I was in the past. Everyone is a child of God but has different advantages or hardships to deal with.
